****CURRENTLY, WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE EXPERIENCED OR AT LEAST WILLING TO LEARN, IN HELPING BUILD A BARN. Maintain a Greenhouse, and a 50ft. low tunnel. ALSO A GARDENER, LANDSCAPER, POTTER TO TEACH LESSONS, GOAT HERDER, HOUSEKEEPER AND COOK.
Our Interns are encouraged to help with our local farmers market.
ACCOMMODATIONS: 2 Bedrooms with double beds in our main house 1 Bedroom with twin beds in our studio, shared full bath available in both locations, kitchen, cable TV, and internet in main house. Interns are expected to assist in keeping their rooms, as well as bathrooms and shared house clean at all times. No Exceptions.
MEALS: Food grown here on the farm provided, Meal preparation is shared.. We have (goat) meat, fruits, vegetables, bread & eggs available from the farm. Clean up is shared. We cannot accommodate special diets. You may purchase other foods & Drink at our local store on one of our trips to town if you prefer not to eat what we offer.
Identification requirements: We will run your identification for any illegal activity. We also require a phone conversation prior to acceptance of your visit. When you arrive, we will want two forms of identification, one must be a photo ID. If we accept you as a single person, do not show up with anyone in tow, or any pets. If we accept your visit as a pair, do not show up with additional persons, or pets.

Nearby sites, we are in the vacationing Mecca of America, just 45 minutes from Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Dollywood, Bristol Motor Speedway, and Asheville, NC.
THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN GREENEVILLE, OTHER THAN 2 TAXIS FOR HIRE, AND THE GREYHOUND BUS COMES IN 1 TIME A DAY, AT 9:30 PM.
WE ARE ABOUT 5 MILES FROM TOWN. WE DO GO INTO TOWN QUITE OFTEN, AND ALSO TAKE OUR DAYS OFF TO GO TO SITES OF INTEREST. WE TRY VERY HARD TO SEE THAT OUR INTERNS GET TO SEE AS MUCH OF OUR AREA AS POSSIBLE WHILE THEY ARE HERE.
ACTIVITIES:
Appalachian Trail hiking
Canoeing, White Water Rafting, Caving, Mountain Bike Trails, Motorcycle Trails, horseback riding, mineral spa. Home of the 17th President Andrew Johnson, with many other museums and historic sites within a days drive.

We can pick you up at the bus stop if you arrive that way...or the airport,if you will be arriving by plane. Other Transportation is on your own. A minimum of 1 month stay is desirable, however we will consider 2 weeks with approval. Stipend is room & board only. Work schedule is flexible. Sorry, we cannot host children or pets. English only spoken here, however, if you speak a 2nd language, such as Spanish, that would be most helpful. Sorry we cannot accommodate special diets.

- WE ARE TRYING TO LEARN MORE OURSELVES ABOUT LIVING HOLISTICALLY, EATING HEALTHY, AND BEING PREPARED FOR ANY NATURAL DISASTERS. WE COULD LEARN TOGETHER IF THAT INTEREST YOU.
- Organic Status: Not Certified Organic, but try to use organic methods when possible, & companion planting
- This host offers full season opportunities.
- INTERNS ARRIVING BY PLANE MUST ARRIVE AND DEPART ON SUNDAYS MAY TO OCTOBER, NO TUESDAY AIRPORT DEPARTURES OR ARRIVALS ANYTIME, DUE TO OUR HEAVY WORK SCHEDULES
- We offer Room and Board for a minimum of 6 hours, 5 days a week of help. Sorry, we can not offer a stipend at this time. Please understand, that weather plays a vital roll on what we can and cannot so some days, so schedules are not always set in stone, we have to complete work sometimes based on weather.
- We are in need of willing interns on the Farm. Please contact us if you are willing and ready to learn. Goat Kids are due to hit the ground in March Need someone to see to herd health, trim hooves and take care of goats other needs..
- We can accommodate 4 to 6 interns. 1 Room has Twin Beds, 2 Rooms have double beds. Interns may have to share rooms. On site housing and rustic camping is available. One camping trailer is available for a full-season worker or couple. There is a shared kitchen, and farm produce (in season) can be harvested for meals. WI-FI is available in the main house (no downloads of any kind are acceptable).
- There is a 1 week trial period, you can terminate and so can we. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY if you do not follow our house rules. WE ARE A NON SMOKING, AND DRUG FREE FARM AND WE LIKE IT THAT WAY.
- If you have experience with organic farming practices, (we would love to learn from you) as we are new to organic.
- Intern may be working alone at times, must have good work ethics.
- We have a farmers market on the farm where we will sell any extra produce that we have from the garden.
- We also have a small retail store on the farm, where we make and sell, ceramics, pottery and goat milk soap, all made right here on the farm.
- Hands on learning of sustainable farming/homesteading skills! Interns will help with crop propagation, soil preparation, planting, weed management, irrigation, harvest, and with the canning, freezing and dehydrating what we don't sell.
- The farm is diverse, complex and interconnected. Therefore, all interns will get exposure to and experience with the other aspects of the farm, including our pasture-raised guineas and chickens for eggs, and for hatching, grass-fed goats, rotational grazing, making soap, making ceramics and hand thrown pottery. We also raise and sell gourds, & luffas. We have a small vineyard and a small orchard this year as well as Raspberries and 2 Asparagus beds.
Our Interns are encouraged to help with our local farmers market.
- Interns are encouraged to Share their, county of origin, language, pictures with our community, both young and old by holding seminars at the Greeneville Farmers Market, several times during their stay with us.
- Assisting with Local Farmers Market: The Market is a 501(c)3(non-profit).
- Our Interns are offered the chance to volunteer at the market. The Market is open May to Oct. Saturdays 7am to 2 pm.
- Our online Market is open year round.
- Help research and write grants for the farmers market. If you have extensive background in writing grants we want to hear from you.
- Be clean, willing to work, non-smoking.
- Please, no personal cell phone use while working.
